Switzerland extreme JURA

The Jura Mountains have been the scene of several significant ascents in climbing history. For example, in 1986, Antoine Le Menestrel established "Ravage" (8b+/c), then the world's most difficult route, on the Chuenisberg near Basel. Seven years later, Fred Nicole followed suit with "Bain de sang" (9a) in St-Loup. After the initial euphoria, things quieted down around the Jura cliffs. The elite climbing scene shifted. What remains are the beautiful rocks and enchanting forests. Besides a few extreme classics, the guidebook offers a wide variety of well-protected routes from 6a to 8a on perfect Jura limestone, especially for "regular" climbers.
