Despite all the innovations in belaying technology, the classic figure 8 descender remains an essential part of every climber's gear. Whether used as a belay device for quick and flexible rope handling or as a safe and comfortable descender, the LACD figure 8 descender made of aluminum performs all its tasks with flying colors. Weighing just 100 g and with a breaking strength of 25 kN, it meets all the criteria that are important for sport climbers, mountaineers, and ice climbers.
