Climbing in Graubünden, SAC climbing guide
Climbing in Graubünden
Chur Rhine Valley / Rätikon / Davos / Surselva / Vals / Engadine / Bergell
The Graubünden climbing guide describes the sport climbing routes of the entire canton, from Fläscherberg in the north to the Oberalp Pass in the west, and from the Lower Engadine in the east to the Val Poschiavo and the Bergell Valley in the south. Single-pitch routes and crags are listed in particular detail. The large and classic alpine climbing areas of the Rätikon, the Bergell, and the Valsertal are also presented with numerous topos and photographs. The book covers 162 climbing areas with 2,685 routes and more than 5,800 pitches.
Author: Thomas Wälti from Mastrils, Graubünden, is a full-time mountain guide. His mountaineering and climbing career has taken him to all of Switzerland's 4,000-meter peaks, lead climbs to all 1,142 summits in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, and to numerous rock faces around the world. But he still prefers the rock faces between the Rätikon, Alpstein, Churfirsten, and Gonzen ranges. He has written several climbing and ski touring guidebooks for the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), most recently the climbing guide "St. Galler Oberland."
